Suffolk County Council (SCC) is a long-standing client of Dalkia, and earlier this year it appointed the firm as a building service specialist for its latest Suffolk Construction Framework.
The client
The leading technical and energy solutions provider Dalkia (formerly Imtech Inviron) has more than 4,000 employees across 25 offices, including a base in Ipswich, Suffolk.
The challenge
Suffolk County Council (SCC) is a long-standing client of Dalkia, and earlier this year it appointed the firm as a building service specialist for its latest Suffolk Construction Framework, which runs till 2027. That means Dalkia is now responsible for the maintenance of more than 1,000 buildings for the council.
The solution
“As an NICEIC approved contractor, we were well aware of NICEIC’s technical excellence,” explains Dalkia’s project manager Jason Newell. NICEIC is on the firm’s approved supply chain as a training provider so he had confidence in NICEIC to provide excellent training for his team. “I had heard plenty of positive feedback from my engineers who had attended previous NICEIC training.”
A two-day PV training course was held at Dalkia’s Ipswich offices, making it convenient for its many engineers working across Suffolk. That also meant that the session was exclusive to Dalkia staff, allowing them to get even more out of it.
The results
“Now that our engineers have completed this training, they can provide maintenance cover for the increasing number of SCC buildings with PV systems installed,” Newell explains.
That means that Dalkia is now better placed than ever to support SCC’s vision to become Net Zero by 2030, as it goes about the crucial work of decarbonising its public estates.

“ As part of its zero-carbon ambitions, the council is installing more PV across the county. We needed to get our engineers up to speed with the latest PV installation and maintenance training.”
