Whether you or a member of your team has just fitted your first EV charging point, installed new street lighting, or fitted a back-up generator for an A&E department, we want to know about it! Our Installation Award is designed to highlight the best work NICEIC businesses have to offer. Simply send us your best images or video of your electrical installation and let us know why you think it deserves to win.

We’ll crown the next winner on 31 March 2025 , who will be showcased on our social media channels and win an NICEIC training course of their choice (up to the value of £1,190)*.

*The winner must meet the entry requirements for their chosen course.

How to get involved

Participating in our competition couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is:

Head on over to our Instagram or Facebook page (or both, if you’re feeling particularly keen) and like our competition post, which will be pinned to the top of our Facebook and Instagram feeds.
Share our competition post with your followers to let them know you’re entering!
Send us your pictures and/or videos of your installation via Facebook Messenger or an Instagram direct message, along with a few words about why you think your work deserves to be crowned as that quarter’s winner.

Please note that liking and sharing our competition post is a condition of entry – we want to create as much buzz around the NICEIC Installation Awards as possible to maximise publicity for our talented winner!

Notifying our winner

The winner will be announced during NICEIC’s live Technical Q&A in April. This Q&A will be broadcast on our LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube channels.

We will then contact the winner via a direct message on Instagram or Facebook (depending on where the winning entry was submitted) and invite them to claim their prize. We will also feature photos of the winning installation on our social media channels.

Please note: We will ONLY contact you via our official Instagram channel, @officialNICEIC, or our official Facebook page, NICEIC. Please ignore communications purporting to be from us coming from any other user – this is a scam.

FAQs

NICEIC’s Installation Award is a social media competition that gives our certified businesses the opportunity to showcase their best work.

This competition is exclusive to NICEIC-certified businesses that have been assessed within the last 12 months. To enter, we will need your business name and confirmation that your employer has given you permission to represent their business by entering the competition. In addition, you should have agreement from your principal duty holder.

We are asking people to like and share our competition post so that we can show off the winning installation to as many people as possible! As such, we have made liking and sharing a condition of entry, to ensure we’re getting the message out there and showcasing the expertise of NICEIC-certified businesses to consumers and the wider industry alike.

We’d recommend that entrants send a maximum of five pictures of their installation and videos should ideally be under one minute in length. Your written explanation should not exceed 300 words – but equally, if only a few sentences are needed then that is also fine.

The next closing date is 31 March 2025, with the winner announced at the beginning of April. Entries submitted after this date will not be considered for that competition cycle.

Yes, all entries submitted after the closing date will be submitted to the judges ready for the next competition cycle.

The winner of the competition will be announced at NICEIC’s live Technical Q&A, which takes place on the first Thursday of each month at 20:00. You can view our Technical Q&A on our YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn channels. Once the winner has been announced, we will share an image of the winning installation with our social media followers to showcase your hard work and your business.

The winner will receive a training course of your choice (up to the value of £1,190) – when selecting your chosen course, just remember to check that you meet the entry requirements. Your business will also be featured a cross NICEIC’s communication channels, including our social media pages.

Businesses will be judged by our technical team according to their installation’s visual technical quality and the written context provided by each entrant.

Of course! Each competition cycle represents a clean slate and a brand-new opportunity to get involved with the NICEIC Installation Award. You can re-enter with the same installation or select a different one. Whatever you do, make sure you like and share the competition post on Facebook or Instagram, and provide us with your written statement via direct message to ensure you fulfil all the entry requirements.

You should be able to verify that the pictures shared are your own work. Additionally, each NICEIC-certified business can only enter once per month – so make it count!
