A product recall has been issued for a number of Martindale/Drummond test lamps primarily intended to test for the absence of voltage when carrying out a safe isolation procedure prior to carrying out work on low voltage circuits or electrical equipment.

According to the product recall notice posted by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), the affected models present a risk of electric shock because of an intermittent indication fault, which could have serious safety implications if the product is used to prove circuits are dead, and lead to electric shocks.

OPSS further advise that if you are in possession of a Martindale/Drummond test lamp affected by this recall you should stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer.
