Supporting you with continuing professional development (CPD)
If your business is certified on one of NICEIC’s electrotechnical schemes, all employed persons undertaking electrical work are required to complete continuing professional development (CPD). You must also provide evidence of the learning that takes place.
To help you on your way, NICEIC provides a wide range of CPD-accredited resources including webinars, newsletters, technical livestreams, Connections magazine, in-person, online and bespoke training courses, and much more. To see all the resources we offer our certified businesses, visit our CPD hub.
What is the best way to keep track of your own and your team's learning?
You may already have systems in place to record CPD, but if you are looking for an easy way to capture your own and your team’s learning, you can use the NICEIC CPD record template. Include details about any CPD you have completed, for example:
- listened to a webinar
- listened to a podcast
- read Connections magazine
- read NICEIC Insights e-newsletter.
The full list of CPD resources, exclusive to NICEIC-certified businesses, is available here.
Discussions with your team
If you are the nominated technical person you will also be asked to record evidence demonstrating that all members of your team are competent and/or adequately supervised to undertake work.
If you do not currently have a system in place to record this information, check out NICEIC’s example Supervision Record Template.
