Certification NICEIC Certification will issue a Certificate Of Competence to successful candidates.

Assessment Information: This course is for anyone requiring an understanding of water regulations/water byelaws.  Certification of this course will go towards some of the entry requirements of meeting the criteria to join a Competent Persons Scheme
 
This course covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and the Water Byelaws 2000 (Scotland) and meet the requirements of Water Regulations UK of which the majority of the UK water companies are members.
 
There are two distinct manuals, one for England/Wales and one for Scotland, as some regulations differ north of the border.  The manual for England/Wales covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, while the one for Scotland references the Water Byelaws 2000.
 
Assessment takes the form of a Theory examination
Contents: Learners will gain an understanding of the following areas:
Pre- requisites: Trainees must hold either of the following:
  • Appropriate S/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC or equivalent.
  • Appropriate industry registration scheme, for example, Gas Safe Register, ACS, OFTEC 105E or equivalent.
  • At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person.
  • At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems to NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person.
Re-Assessment On expiry of certificate, candidates are eligible to take reassessment. Previous certificates must be presented to the assessment centre as evidence of holding the initial qualification.
