About the role

We have exciting opportunities for self-employed part-time MCS Assessors to cover various locations across the UK. The main purpose of the role is to Undertake assessments for all NICEIC customers registered for MCS and renewable Competent Person schemes.

What you'll be doing

  • Undertaking assessments for all NICEIC customers registered for MCS and renewable Competent Person schemes.
  •  Assessing customers’ work and resources to ensure they comply with the scheme rules and technical requirements prior to registration.
  • Deliver surveillance assessments to determine their eligibility for continued registration.
  •  Building relationships with applicants for registration, their employees and various other professional bodies, and providing qualified assessment services.
  • Working independently in accordance with instructions and guidance outlined in procedural manuals.
  • Demonstrating a high level of technical competence specific to the undertaking of MCS renewable technologies.

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • Detailed knowledge of renewables technologies, MCS Scheme, Building Regulations, and related codes of practice.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant Competent Person schemes
  • Suitable technical qualifications and knowledge of renewable technologies
  • Report writing, numeracy and PC skills
  • Communication skills with the ability to build excellent relationships at all levels
  • Excellent customer service skills – can recognise the customers’ needs and strives to deliver the best level of customer service
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of accreditation criteria
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Corporate membership of the IET/ IEE/ CIBSE
  • HNC in engineering or equivalent
  • Auditing experience
