If you are interested in our Approved Contractor or Domestic Installer Schemes (or in our Combined Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer bundle), you can apply via our online application form. You can do so by either by completing the application form on the relevant scheme page or if you’re unsure what NICEIC certification scheme is right for you, use our online tool by clicking the buttons above to guide you through the most suitable options for your business.
When you apply, you'll need to submit your details and provide evidence of your relevant qualifications, experience and insurance via the online form.

If you have started an application but didn't complete it, you can easily retrieve it. Simply check your email for your application reference ID and continue your application.

In addition to having the appropriate qualifications, you also need to have the appropriate level of experience for the scheme. For our electrotechnical schemes, you must have been responsible for electrical work for at least two years and must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise in the field.
You will also need to provide evidence of your insurance.
Your business must have public liability insurance of at least £2 million and, where appropriate, professional indemnity and/or employers’ liability insurance.
Insurance must be appropriate to the risk, nature, scope, and scale of the work undertaken.

View our list of accepted qualifications, which vary for different schemes. These qualifications can include a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation or equivalent and an 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
