Certifying your business for:

  • Commercial and industrial electrical installations
  • Domestic installations (excluding Part P).
  • Initial and periodic inspection and testing.

What do you need to apply?
  • A proposed qualified supervisor (QS) who holds the relevant qualifications; and at least 2 years supervisory experience.
  • £2 million public liability insurance
  • £250k professional indemnity insurance
  • Appropriate electrical work completed by your business within the last 12 months, for your assessment.

  • Enable your business to notify renewable installations on the MCS Installation Database.

What do you need to apply?
  • A main contact with responsibility for ensuring that the business meets MCS requirements.  
  • A technical supervisor with the relevant qualifications and training.
  • £2 million public liability insurance.
  • £250k professional liability insurance.
  • £5 million employers liability insurance.
  • Appropriate work completed by your business within the last 12 months, for your assessment.
  • A site for each technology your business is applying for with appropriate work completed within the last 12 months, for your assessment.

  • An endorsement scheme set up by the consumer organisation Which? to highlight the best

  • This dual accreditation sends out the strongest signal to customers.

  • A copy of your most recent NICEIC assessment report
  • You’ll also be asked for references from past customers.

Requires certification on an NICEIC scheme

*The price shown is a starting rate. It assumes, for example, that your business has only one qualified supervisor/technical representative, that all required scopes of work can be reviewed during a single assessment, and that no additional on-site assessments are needed to confirm your business meets the certification standards for your scheme. 

**No extra charges apply where compliance is demonstrated during your application or surveillance assessment. However, extra fees are applicable in some circumstances, for example, if you applied for our Certifier of Construction scheme and your business is located outside of Scotland.
