NICEIC Head of Technical Advice and Practice, Sam Donaghy commented: “We’re proud to be key delivery partners of SkillELECTRIC. These events provide an excellent platform for supporting the future generation of skilled electricians. Apprentices and students have an amazing opportunity to showcase their abilities and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment. It will be exciting to see how participants progress through the competition.”
The national qualifier heats commenced on 8 May 2024 in Birmingham and have since taken place in Wales, Lancashire, and Northern Ireland.

Competitors will be tested through a series of practical challenges encompassing various electrical installation tasks. Qualifying participants will then have the chance to compete in the final, with finalists set to receive prizes generously provided by NICEIC. The highest-scoring competitors from all UK heats will receive invitations to compete at the SkillELECTRIC UK final in November 2024.
