NICEIC Heat Pumps training course now available through government Heat Training Grant
NICEIC, the UK’s leading certification and training body for the electrical industry, is pleased to announce that its Heat Pumps installation and maintenance training course is now available through the government’s Heat Training Grant.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero launched the Heat Training Grant in 2023, enabling eligible heating engineers to receive a discount of up to £500 towards the cost of heat pump training. The grant was established to strengthen the low carbon sector and to help train engineers to install and maintain heat pump technology, given the move away from traditional gas boilers to low-carbon heat pumps will be critical to the country’s decarbonisation efforts and meeting the UK’s target to be net zero by 2050.
NICEIC’s Heat Pumps installation and maintenance course helps experienced plumbing and heating engineers improve their knowledge and understanding of air source heat pumps and provides necessary preparation and training for those looking to apply for the Competent Person/MCS/PAS 2030 certification. As well as providing an overview of heat pump systems, associated regulations and system design, the course also covers a number of additional elements including installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repair.
Paul Price-Hazlehurst, Head of Delivery and Operations, NICEIC said “We are pleased to be able to offer our Heat Pump training course through the government’s Heat Training Grant. This will help heating engineers to upskill at a significantly reduced cost, and ensure our sector has the necessary knowledge and experience as we continue to transition to low carbon technology.”
NICEIC’s Heat Pump installation training course will be running on multiple dates at various locations across the country.
