On the first Thursday of each month at 20:00, NICEIC opens up the floor to social media followers across the industry with a livestream broadcasting on Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Electrical competence and safety is an industry-wide prerogative that NICEIC takes extremely seriously. For this reason, we open up our monthly livestreams to anybody who wants to attend. Whether you’re a student curious about pursuing a career in the industry, an experienced electrician with another certification body, or you’re simply interested in the electrotechnical industry, our live Technical Q&A sessions offer a rare opportunity to access NICEIC’s expertise without being NICEIC-certified.
What can you expect during our live Technical Q&As?
Each live Technical Q&A is different, but here’s what we broadly cover in the sessions:
- We answer our Question of the Week and explain with reference to the regs.
- We present some interesting questions from technical helpline callers and discuss the answers.
- We open the floor to your questions, giving you the chance to have your queries answered by our experts in real time.
Meet the experts
Our live Technical Q&As are hosted by Sam Donaghy, NICEIC’s Head of Technical Advice and Practice. Sam’s been working in the electrotechnical industry since he started his apprenticeship back in 1978, and was a practicing electrical engineer for several decades before beginning his career at NICEIC in 2016.
Sam is joined regularly by guest speakers from our Technical Services and Assessment teams, who bring decades of expertise to every livestream.
