Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating using hot water

What will you learn?

All aspects relating to the installation of warm water underfloor heating systems currently available in the UK. The course will discuss how these systems can be connected to most heat sources including gas, oil and electric boilers as well as renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar thermal systems.

Who should attend?

All engineers involved in the installation of hot water heating systems fired by natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, oil or ground/air source heat pumps.

The course programme

Day 1

§  Principles of warm water underfloor heating system design

§  Operation and system verification

§  Common types of floor construction

§  Integration with domestic hot water cylinders

Day 2

§  Course review

§  Assessment

Benefits

Successful candidates will be able to design and install warm water underfloor heating as a sophisticated alternative to traditional radiator systems.  Candidates will then be able to offer underfloor heating as a viable and suitable alternative heat source for customers.

Next step

Candidates might also be interested in diversifying their business into the emerging renewable energy market, installing technologies such as Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Bio Fuels, Wind Power and Hydro Power. To find out more about the NICEIC Microgeneration Installer Scheme (MCS) call 0800 519 5190.
