Core Domestic Gas Safety (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) 

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

All aspects relating to core domestic LPG gas safety. The initial knowledge area for this course is related to permanent dwellings (house, flats etc), but additional areas such as leisure accommodation vehicles (caravans), residential park homes and boats can also be undertaken.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All engineers working on domestic liquefied petroleum gas fuelled installations and appliances.

THE COURSE PROGRAMME

Day 1

■ Gas safety legislation

■ Unsafe situations and emergency actions

Day 2

■ Appliance controls

■ Combustion (characteristics of LPG)

■ Flues and ventilation

Day 3

■ LPG supply (tanks and cylinder location and installation)

■ Pipework installation

■ Pipe sizing

■ Pipework defects and faults

■ Tightness testing and purging

BENEFITS

Successful candidates will develop an understanding on how to work safely on domestic LPG installations.

NEXT STEP

Candidates can move onto LPG fuelled appliance training such as HTRLP2, HTRLP3, WATLP1 and REFLP2.
