Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
Understanding the requirements to consider when designing, erecting and verifying electrical installations.
What will you learn?
How to design electrical installations in accordance with the requirements of BS7671: June 2008, (Amended to 2011) and verify that these installations comply with the regulations.
Who should attend?
The qualification is intended for experienced personnel working in the electrical industry who
have responsibility for the quality of the design, specification, installation, inspection and testing processes. A good understanding of inspection and testing is required and beneficial.

■ Wiring systems
■ Cable selection and design
■ Discrimination and diversity
■ Earthing and bonding systems
■ Special installations
■ Inspection and testing
■ Documentation and certification
■ Practical assignment and exam
(Candidates who have already completed a Level 3 Award in inspection and testing of electrical installations will not need to take this again)
■ 3 hour written exam
■ A set project, requiring a minimum of 20 hours work
Benefits
This qualification is an ideal progression from the Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (EICRs). Successful candidates will have the ability to design, install, inspect and test electrical installations in accordance with BS7671.
Next Step
Successful candidates could progress to level 4 qualifications, management and engineering roles.
